- Project Call: Plan Avanza 2011.
- Leader: Neoris España.
- Main aim: Creation of an advanced ICT platform to report on the availability and location of parking spaces for people with disabilities and also for charging points for electric vehicles. It will offer both cities accurate and up-to-date data on the occupancy of parking spaces and charging points and so steps can be taken to improve the services offered to citizens.
The Valladolid-Palencia: Smart Cities project, aims to build an advanced ICT platform to inform users of the availability and location of parking spaces for people with disabilities and also of charging points for electric cars. It will additionally allow the municipalities of Valladolid and Palencia to obtain truthful and up-to-date occupancy information on parking spaces and charging stations for electric cars so steps can be taken to improve services offered to citizens.
In order to achieve this, a series of self-energizable sensors will be deployed in certain areas of the cities of Valladolid and Palencia, which will then offer real-time occupation data of disabled parking spaces and points to recharge electric vehicles. The platform will also generate usage statistics and will indicate areas with higher vehicle turnover as well as a message system for users who want to know the availability of both areas through their mobile phone and/or email and its positioning using GPS technology.
